1. Acceptance

By using PDF99 (the website, tools or services provided at https://www.pdf99.org), you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Updated terms take effect when posted with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance.

3. Services & Use

PDF99 provides browser-based and server-side PDF utilities (conversion, merge, split, compress, OCR, etc.). You agree to use the Service in compliance with applicable laws and these Terms.

4. User Content

You retain ownership of files you upload (\"User Content\"). By using the Service, you grant PDF99 a limited license to process those files for the purpose of performing the requested conversions or operations and improving the Service (for diagnostics, anonymized analytics, or quality improvement), subject to our Privacy Policy.

5. Prohibited Conduct

• Do not use the Service to upload or disseminate unlawful, infringing, harmful, or offensive materials.
• Do not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or interfere with the Service or infrastructure.
• Do not circumvent usage limits, quotas or security mechanisms.

6. Privacy & File Retention

Many tools run locally in your browser. When server processing is required we store files temporarily only for processing and remove them automatically in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You should not upload highly sensitive personal data unless you have a secure workflow in place.

7. Third-party Services

PDF99 may use third-party libraries, APIs or services. Your use of those features is also subject to the third party’s terms.

8. Intellectual Property

All rights, title and interest in the Service, code, UI and branding belong to PDF99 or its licensors. You may not copy or reuse our branding or code without permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as-is” and “as-available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. PDF99 does not guarantee results, suitability for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PDF99 and its affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including loss of data, revenue, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total aggregate liability for direct damages will not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, or fifty dollars (USD 50) if no payment was made.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold PDF99 harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Service.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service for violations of these Terms or for operational reasons. Upon termination, rights granted to you under these Terms will cease.

13. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where PDF99 is operated. Any dispute will be resolved in the courts located in that jurisdiction, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

14. Miscellaneous

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect. Headings are for convenience and do not affect interpretation.
